Jcpenney Portraits - Horrible experience, the fast-food of portrait studios
We recently had a family session and I must say, I was extremely disappointed. The photographer rushed us through different poses which I wasn't too upset about.
She seemed like she knew what she was doing and some of the poses seemed like they would look good. Our real disappointment started when we reviewed our photographs. It was clear that the photographer didn't confirm that any of the poses looked good. Out of a dozen photos, there was only maybe 2 that were passable although even those weren't ones we would want to share much less put on our wall.
There rest consisted of closed eyes, uncomfortable faces and rushed poses. Both my wife and I were very upset. We went through a lot of trouble to do our part but the photographer treated our session like we were at a fast-food drive through. It was painfully clear that this portrait studio operated on the "quantity over quality" business model.
We had prepaid using a groupon and walked away with only the items that came with that. Had we not already paid for the groupon, we would not have purchased anything.

The JCP portrait studio is a Lifetouch studio.
The entire process is supposed to be a 45 minute experience, according to what my manager told me when I was working for them.
The photographer is expected to get 15-18 "images" during 15minutes in the camera room.
As a photographer, if I took over 18 images, I had to give my manager a reason why. If it took longer than the expected 15 minutes, I needed to justify doing so.
I quit after a few months.
