This was my first visit to JCPenny Photography Studio.

The problem just occurred in the last two weeks, so I'm not sure how the studio will respond to my concerns.

Other staff members in the studio seemed fine, with the exception of the one taking my photos. She told me she was the assistant manager, and that makes me think her attitude and customer service is acceptable to the company.

I will keep you posted.

Brought my granddaughter into the Eastgate Mall, Cin., OH location on Nov. 17, 2016.

Session was rushed and photographer was short, paid little attention to details and the photos were marginal. I found some acceptable and purchased. However, all the shots of the ones I wanted of her in angel wings were terrible!!! Photographer only took two shots ....

and I felt rushed and she didn't really listen to what I wanted. So today, Dec. 1 I returned to try to get better pictures in the ANGEL wings. But today she put butterfly wings on her- huge ones- and they didn't look like ANGEL wings!!

I said to the photographer that these were not angel wings but they were butterfly wings!!! She paid no attention to me and rushed right on through the session doing whatever she wanted. I brought props to go with the session - an angel doll, a photo of my recently deceased daughter holding my granddaughter, a star.... now when I look at the photos, now that I'm not being rushed to look at the photos in the studio while holding on to my granddaughter, the butterfly wings just make NO SENSE!!!

I called the studio a couple of hours later to discuss the problem with the butterfly wings VS the appropriate ANGEL wings - and that didn't go well!!! The same photographer answered the phone and again, she was curt, rude, and insisted they were the same wings from the last session! I have that album on my phone with the two angel wing photos last taken and THEY ARE NOT THE SAME!!! Eventually, this photographer told me I could bring her in to reshoot (and I could bring my own angel wings!), or I could cancel my order.

I've already invested in two days of photo shoots, and I really wanted professional photos of her- since her mother died it had been hard to get to this point. I do not feel like I would want this photographer again!! She is not patient, and rushes everything without listening to what the customer is looking for!!

If I can't be assured this is not typical for JCPenny studios AND that I would NOT have her again, I will be looking to take her somewhere else!!! K Bowling

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

You go to a cut-rate, fast-food type of establishment in the middle of the holiday season along with 5 billion other short-sighted shoppers expecting them to treat your daughter as the center of attention? Guess what genius.

You cannot get your steak medium rare if you go to the McDonald's drive through window.

If the photos meant that much to you, shell out some real money and hire a local, professional photographer who has the time and desire to do a good job.

That person that was rude to you is probably making $12/hour, already had to deal with 327 other self-centered, obnoxious parents that expected perfection for $19.95, and was probably made the assistant manager because she was the only one in the store that could not find a real job and showed up for her benefitless job everyday unarmed.

Perhaps you failed to take any of this into account when you decided to buy the cheapest photoshoot available?

Wow! FYI these are not 19.95 photos!!

Try $149, for not that many photos. Not a lot of money for some people but it is for others with limited incomes - who still want a decent photo of their loved ones.

Not everyone can afford to hire a private photographer... which I assume you are.

But regardless of how much money is paid, the consumer deserves to receive the quality and value JCP promises, with courteous, knowledgible employees-regardless of how much or little they are being paid.

Hey, thanks for the "genius" recognition!

I do run a successful service industry business, while managing a household and taking care of my precious orphaned granddaughter...with the grief and heartbreak of losing my daughter this year. That's a lot of balls to keep in the air, and I'm managing -

your nasty comments are rude, insensitive and unappreciated.

We had a trainee do our photos. She had a huge amount of trouble getting all people in the photo.

She spent 90% of the session on one pose. (Which did not turn out well) I understand everyone starts somewhere, but she clearly needed help and the other staff members did nothing to help her. Then the manager came back to move things along, and we did not get the Christmas photo I wanted for the christmas card.

We got no pictures of just the kids because the people scheduled behind us were waiting. 150 dollars later we left with one usable picture, and I took pictures at home for the cards.

Wow! Thanks for sharing.

I feel so very sad for you and for how you were treated by that photographer! I have endured similar rude and insensitive treatment by vendors, including some photographers, but Thank God, not any photographers at JCPenney.

We chose the local JCPenney studio in Greenwood, IN for a family Easter photo, our children's graduation photos and even my daughter's engagement photos. All the photos were absolutely stellar!

The photographer listened very well to what we wanted and worked with the happy couple to create some fun photos that incorporate their enthusiasm for cos-play. She was even willing to do some creative things with props, even using the trunk that was only intended as their storage unit for other props, in several retro-styled pics.

We'd also had great success over the years with annual Christmas photos of the kids while they were growing up.

I also know someone who had a professional portrait done a year or so ago for publicity purposes at a Penney's outside Indiana, and that publicity photo is just gorgeous!

Given these experiences, I believe it is safe to say that it would be unfair to judge every JCPenney studio based on the unprofessional sub-par service received at one particular location. How sad, however, that it is someone in their local management who demonstrated such atrocious customer service skills!

Perhaps writing to corporate headquarters might do some good. Best Wishes!

You just need to butt out. You've called klb5282s granddaughter chubby and made fun of her daughters death.

You've criticized her choice of photographer when you've made it abundantly clear that your not into photos, "My cell phone does not even have a camera because I am not one of THOSE people that is addicted to themselves. I am a programmer who does not shop at JCP." Like that matters in this situation. You criticized the above persons good experience at JCP. I feel sorry for you.

You couldn't be happy if it killed you. I bet your family is SO proud of you!
